Exclamation The world has gone crazy...

Haven't seen any discussions here about it so not sure if you guys know but the USA is officially even more f*cked than before

A couple of days ago a bill "FOSTA/SESTA" passed through the house and senate that is set to drastically change the lives of escorts for the worst. It's being posed as an "anti trafficking bill" but realistically we all know thats just code for "anti sex work". The bill itself won't be active for at least 90 days but already it's causing a lot of problems for workers in the US and soon those outside.

In the US several large advertising sites have shut down (voluntarily for now) like TER which was a HUGE free forum for workers to advertise for free on, I myself use it and rely heavily on it when I tour the US, CityVibe which was very popular on the west coast and even Craigslist have shut down their personal sections including bloody platonic encounters. If you're on twitter you'll see how much escorts are panicking and rightfully so. I've been tweeting about it from my account but others have much more to say and say it better.

They are literally having their income sources snatched away from them in the name of a bullshit anti trafficking bill and it's so sad. Imagine if this happened in Ireland to EI (not saying it will just imagine). Sure everyone would work out other ways of working in the end but there would be many left near destitute with no way to work till that happened. Never mind the horny lost clients walking around with boners and blue balls lol.

The bill also threatens basically any of us who have our own private websites with .com domains or who host in the USA, our social media (Twitter is a big source of advertising for many of us) down to even our bloody gmail accounts. It's truly a nightmare and there is so little we can do about it. The worst part is how it's going to effect the most marginalised and least privileged.

Gosh it almost makes the godforsaken Nordic model look harmless (it's not harmless of course). I cannot believe they think this will keep escorts safer? Burning down places to advertise and screen clients safely.

A bloody sad time to be alive and even sadder if you're an escort in the U

Saw this on Twitter and knew it was in the pipeline because of the efforts of activists.
The whole anti sex work, 'human trafficking', campaign that's taking place now is truly frightening. It's got nothing to do with protecting the vulnerable and exploited.
It reminds me of the anti Communist hearings of the nineteen fifties - except it likely to be far more damaging to far more people.

Yes there has been chatter about it for ages and I don't think it's much of a surprise that it passed. 97-2 I think it was?! I'm offering free overnights and a life time of nudes to the 2 smart senators who voted against it. Drafting a letter now lol.

The 2 would probably decline your offer. On the other hand a lot of the 97 are probably total hypocrites and would jump at the opportunity to spend the night with you given half the chance.

Is it full of myself to reckon they'd all be keen for a ride

Bloody good point though. Gosh I reckon between all the escorts in the US they could probably write a book on these men.

Yea I was reading about this on Twitter it is going to really fuck things up for sexworkers and also for the genuine clients. How they think this is going to make it safer for the ladies is beyond me. Now you must question if others go down the same road all sites like this will be finished. And the ladies will all lose their Twitter accounts aswell. Which I think for some is happening already. It will really send this industry further underground in the long run.

So far not hearing about too many Twitter accounts being shut down but it's inevitable.

Things a lot of us are doing - deleting old tweets, posting less full nudes and getting rid of words that are buzz works like "GFE" "PSE" "ESCORT".

Sites are going to find ways to work around it no doubtt they are already plotting and planning as law is yet to actually be law but I worry about the downtime.

I know many are cancelling their US tours, myself included as it's much to risky.
