That article you linked above is one of the better ones I've read on the topic of findom, it's a very honest reflection of the scene at the moment.

Twitter is completely oversaturated with young ones who want a "Get Rich Quick" scheme, but don't understand the dynamics behind the fetish or even BDSM in general. And, on the other hand, there are very few true "finsubs". A very small number of subs will give without expecting anything in return, and truly enjoy it. Most want JOI, CEI, or other humiliation as "rewards", which is not the purpose of findom.

I'm glad it's not my sole source of income, because there are days when I'm especially aware of how unsustainable and polluted the whole findom scene has become.
