A thought on protecting information on this site

Hi, Dawned on me having used this site before I registered that you could quite easily view forums, conversations etc without the need to log in or be registered. Yes this prevents you from raising a thread or response but should we be concerned that a number of guests accessing the forums have access to quite a fair bit of information including sometimes pictures of escorts beyond their published galleries etc some that have the blurring removed.

Some other sites that i have used in the past are very strict on having to create an account and be logged in to see forums. Also certain information contained on an Escorts profile is hidden unless you are logged in?

Is this something that EI should seriously consider and also is there an impact on the new EU Data laws coming in May this year that needs to be addressed.

Sorry if anyone disagrees but there is fair bit of personal information across the forums that can be freely accessed. Guessing a lot or people on this site and others do not think about some of the posts being publically accessible and pictures copied etc that have been shared under the view that these were secure.

Any thoughts from the Mods would be welcome and input from other forum users. We dont need a full lock down, but need to consider data being available to and one who just comes onto the site for a snoop like journalists, friends or family members that recognise an escort (you would have to question why they were here but you get what I a saying) etc?

To put it into prospective - at the time of posting this there were 337 users online. 91 members and 246 guests - 246 persons not registered viewing our comments, forums etc is that not scary!

Guessing from other threads that the Escorts have a private area for forums. So the site can support it if thats the case.

Interesting to here what others think and also how EI could address this. Sure many Escorts and Clients would use the forums more actively if they knew it was more protected and private. Didnt log in earlier today just to see what you can view an was pretty amazed at the amount of content accessible and also access to Escorts pictures and albums etc that could be copied and then posted more publicly elsewhere. Other sites I have used will only let you view forums when logged in and see specific information about Escorts only when logged in. Also if someone is logged in and there is a problem or bad behaviour its easier to track if at all required.

There is a Established Members Lounge but it is underused. If it was used more there would be a stronger case for a logged in forum.

Of course, if all the forums were logged in only then they would have to be used.

I imagine if you have to make account to see information, less people would visit the site. Less exposure for the advertisers, so why would they pay to put an advert up if only a handful of people are going to see it and they're not getting much return on it?

Not saying you have to be logged in to see an escort profile but more of a limited view of information if that makes sense and allow the escort to decide whether to promote certain information public ally

If you think it through, there is no practical way to prevent random non-legit visitors from creating accounts without putting too many obstacles in the way for legitimate visitors.

The Established Members Lounge is based on number of posts, so trolls and idiots can easily get there. If it was based on the number of reviews or references it would be a safer place for sensitive discussion.

I think it is sensible to assume that everything here could potentially be hacked and published on the internet, and behave accordingly - ie leave no trail of personal information, including IP addresses, email accounts that can be linked to you etc.

Sounds like a good idea you are suggesting, although my personal preference is not to leave reviews for Escorts I have or plan to visit. Interesting debate on how much information on here is public that you maybe able to prevent with some restrictions.
