Today, 15th November, is the day demographers have chosen to mark that the world now has 8 billion people. It could be up to a year or two on either side because it takes a long time to count to 8 billion and that number of people are hard to count accurately!

On this day in 1963 American president John F. Kennedy was assassinated in Dallas, Texas.

One of the most shocking moments in history looking back.

The Zapruder tape...fuck me that was some shocking footage.

Very interesting man was JFK...read a lot of books on him.

American celebrity Ted Bundy was born on this day in 1946.

He got the chair a good few years back. No great loss.

17 years for Bestie...it doesn't seem that long ago!

What was the saying about him....

Pele good, Maradona better, George BEST...

Guitar God Jimi Hendrix would have turned 80 on Sunday gone (November 27th). I forgot...I visited his grave just outside of Seattle.

Sticking with music...two very famous albums were released on this day back in the day -

Pink Floyd - The Wall (1979)

Michael Jackson - Thriller (1982)...40 year anniversary.

Two of the greatest selling records of all time.

The first SMS message was sent over the Vodafone GSM network in the United Kingdom on December 3, 1992, from Neil Papworth of Sema Group (now Mavenir Systems) using a personal computer to Richard Jarvis of Vodafone using an Orbitel 901 handset. The text of the message was "Merry Christmas."
