Funnily enough on the eleventh I was busy not burying "the dead" but burying someone that had died.
So now the eleventh of November has three meanings for me ,one of which is the ending of WW1.

    November 25th 1984

The original Band Aid famine relief single "Do They Know It`s Christmas?" was recorded at Sarm West Studios in Notting Hill, London. The record was released on 3 December 1984 and went straight to No. 1 in the UK singles chart, outselling all the other records in the chart put together. It became the fastest- selling single of all time in the UK, selling a million copies in the first week alone. It stayed at No. 1 for five weeks, selling over three million copies and becoming the then biggest-selling single of all time in the UK.

On this day in 1967, the French President, Charles de Gaulle, vetoed Britain's application to join the Common Market for a second time.

    Strange times we live in.
