    Default Why get married?????

So much for leaving.Anyway i often wondered and amazingly kept my mouth shut but i have to ask ,why the hell do some of you get married?

Personally i think the ass has fallen out of marriage now.I couldnt count the numbers of times i was at weddings ,parties etc and get some married one chasing me around in private. When i read about affairs,on here with married guys seeing escorts, divorce laws etc.Marraige doesnt mean the same thing anymore. Its turning into a joke.

Regardless why get married if a single life is what someone needs or can you hack it?Can you hack the fact that your friends are marrying and moving on?Do you fear being alone for the duration of your life? Can you hack the loniness at times?Or do you miss the freedom that single life gives?

Espeicially with the pressure of mortgages, raising kids etc?Why in gods name give up your freedom for this when you cannot commit to it?We have a situation where someone is trying to focus on opposite ends of a burning candle. If your caught your fucked,if your not caught then you have to live with this secret life away from the very person that apparently seems closest to you.

Im single and so ,do things single ppl do.Will i ever get married?Maybe who knows but what i cant understand or do is meeting someone marrying them and commiting myself to them and then attempting to be single.I havnt married because aside from not meeting the right person (i have met a few but they dont need to know) i have things i do for me that would prevent me from being the best father i could be to a kid that will obviously come along if i married.

I get most things but i really can never get why someone would take on such an undertaking yet cant be sure of maintaining it.

Plz give me a break of this "i need a break" bs.We all need a break.

Plz keep this thread on topic or i will call in the cavalry,
    Westside.

PS i f you read the above and cannot understand it then your in good hands, neither can i.

Not a big fan of marriage myself but...

A couple of my friends got married recently after being together for years and initially feeling marriage was not neccessary. They said they did it purely because it was a romantic thing to do and a great excuse to throw a party and take a holiday!

its generally the women that love the whole marriage thing a lot more than men do.

it increases their sense of security both emotionally and physically since they,ve more right as a mrs if you pop your clogs.

but the whole thing of the wedding day, the thrill of getting a big white dress and walking up the aisle and the bridesmaids, flowergirls and honeymoons etc etc. sure its the height of romance and uniqueness to have the BIG DAY.

men generallly see it as the same as living together with an excuse for a big days party and of course a wild stag night

Default What i am talking about is

why ppl bother to get married, bring the pressures that come along with marraige on themselves all in the while they have no intention of being 100% commited and end up trying to live a single life too.

    All hail the single man,

    Smile marriage

I think any couple should live together for at least 3 years before getting married, then they will know if they are in love or in lust. nobody should rush into marriage, I should know because I did and spent the following 30 + years in misery, only to get a letter from the wife's soliciter saying she was unhappy and wanted half of everything. The funy thing is I am happy she did, pity she did not do it 30 years ago. I hope this story will enlighten any young guy thinking of marriage
