Surely you can appreciate how power and privilege safeguards predators?

I get that these arseholes are privileged, but what I don’t get is why if there were so many women abused they didn’t stand up for themselves. Honestly I don’t really get it. It’s beyond me. I’m all in for punishing those idiots, but why did it take them so long to do this?

I see direct parallels with what went on in the catholic church some years back.
I remember growing up hearing rumours of this person, or that priest.
Stuff that would be studiously ignored or mockingly dismissed.
All forgotten because none of it seemed real.
And then one day it was.

If everyone in the culture you live in acts like that then what recourse do you have?

I think the ladies who use to work at Fox News are a great insight to that type of culture.

Yeah you’re right. I keep forgetting that we live in a world where bad things don’t get punished.

It's just the beginning. I used to work in "the industry". It is far worse and wide spread than just this. I have personally seen this garbage. I hate Hollywood- JG

Oh it's much worse than that Nina.
We live in a world where bankers who tank the economy are exonerated.
but wankers who spank their plank publicly are incarcerated.

Justice maybe be blind but somebody is whispering in her ear.

You don't have to go to Hollywood for this shit, it happens in this little country of ours. Bastards with power that are too mean to pay for sex, take it for free.
A good friend of mine had always dreamed of becoming a model, then very suddenly gave up on the idea. I've only recently learned why she packed it in, and its not because she hadn't the figure for it. She'd have a very difficult time proving that she was raped and sexually assaulted several times as there was an element of consent but promises of work disappeared when she stood up for herself.
To anyone that doesn't like me here.
I hope you need to pee 3 times tonight, but that you only wake up twice.

And if anyone will tell me it’s because they didn’t want their careers fucked up I don’t buy that shit. The trauma of being abused sexually and mentally is a hard one to deal with and I personally would choose to stop an abuse at the expense of my career rather than permit it.
I think the reason why so many women are now coming forward is that now, unlike any time in the past, they will be believed.

A friend of mine was sexually abused by a religious brother in the school we went to. Everyone knew the man was a creep, my friend was even slagged in school about being his favourite. He only told me a few years ago. I didn't know whether to be angry or sad about what had been brushed under the carpet. How many other boys were abused? Have they ever told anyone else?

Weinsteins behaviour was known and joked about. It happened. No one made too much noise. 33 Rock made a joke of it.

However, there is an element of hang on a minute.... when does inappropriate behaviour become sexual assault and where is the line drawn before lives and careers are ruined unnecessarily.
Always check for lipstick or makeup transfer before you leave the apartment
