It might be that there's no evidence of money changing hands, or of sexual contact, so all they have is the fact the client was on the premises and/or phone evidence.

Case dismissed - lack of evidence. Hopefully.

Does money have to change hands?
The whole thing goes against the right of free association and the right to privacy.
Having the pigz in the bedroom is never a good idea for any state!

so as I understand it he was attempting to purchase sexual services but failed?

seems quite weak - its always puzzled me why escorts are not prosecuted for incitement to break the law

i note that it needs an identity parade - why - did he turn up on the doorstep , and leave and this was witnessed by whom- police officers- sting?

escort as witness- extradition - end of their career?

    will they turn up?

also any purchase would be for the persons time which is essentially a business transaction between 2 consenting adults

i am sure a barrister will point this out

but we all that they would have to do something, that they would start enforcing it at some stage, the pressure was mounting

also given that the guy has been named i would expect that counter suits would be issued for defamation of character and wrongful arrest

and the relevant authorities would be sued for massive damages

I have given some legal advice to some guys before who were apprehended by the PSNI when the PSNI were not really too bad and letting clients get use to the new law.
The main thing here is now once in the apartment its enough to do damage and i'm afraid you will have escorts who will be cooperating with police, that is where it will all unravel for the client i'm afraid as most of these places are shared accommodation and in the eyes of the law, a brothel so that's a crime in itself for the escorts staying there.
I don't want to give more information on it on this forum but just be careful.

by the way the legislation defines a ' prostitute'

But I would imagine that the lady would have to turn up in court to give evidnece.
Odd that they may start concentrating on pulling clients rather than closing brothels and using the brothel legislation as leverage on the ladies to squeal on clients, It may be happening, but farccal and pulling the piss out of the law in general! Effectively using escorts to entrap clients for fines for the state! State = Big Daddy Pimp
    Ride them on the beaches!
