Tbh I think you'd need to watch it a couple of times perhaps to enjoy it and watching Ana de Armas again would be no great hardship .
The sound design was almost oppressive at times but home viewers might miss that so if you're interested at all then catch it at the cinema.

Agree with you on 2049 especially the final 20 mins a bit lose on plot but what a movie seen it twice this movie will grow and needs several viewings hope its box office performance holds, still the above scene shows the ORG blade runner was considering it was made in 1982 , is a visionary brilliance.

I had to watch it twice, with a bit of a gap in between each viewing, to get it to make sense for me, which if finally did. I thought there were some inconsistencies or continuity issues on first viewing, but second time around I guess you have more time to take in the subtleties and layers so overall yeah I'm happy with it. A little long perhaps but a hell of a worthy successor to the original.

I saw it twice within a week , more to catch the depth d quality of some of the visuals especially in Jared Lettos bad guy home . I loved it despite the last 20 mins being a bit ragged and not plausible especially on second view. It is a shame it has not done well at box office as it is unlikely we will get a movie of its ilk again , although new star wars showed some more complexity and is still doing well despite Alt right trolls trying to drive down its on line scores , they got nothing better to do? Will get the DVD blu ray . There is a 4 hour cut out there but even for me it might be too much.
I also watched the original with a girl here she loved it and I must say it still holds up despite being nearly 40 years ago when made. Roy Batty you own one of the greatest scenes ever .

    G'wan and fuck off.
Jaret Leto was playing the same character he played in his pretend music band videos.
What were they called again? Thirty Seconds from anyone giving a fuck ... or something similar.

I have to say though the new Blade Runner stands up well to repeated viewings.
Great characters, astonishing visuals, near perfect pacing.
    Shame about the story.

    Fucking great movie though.
