I'm no Shinner but if other similar prisoners a prisoner is willing to put his/her life on the line through hunger strike for a set of reasonable concessions that would apply to all (Loyalists as well) than I would have to listen.
The tradition of hunger strike dates back to The Brehon Laws, where if somebody committed an injustice to you, the serve was returned by going to his land and staying there on hunger strike until the situation was rectified!
One thing which apparently and inevitably has caused issues is that some of the funky new Shinners rising to the top politically or on the way have had nothing to do with the armed struggle back in the day, indeed some were born after the conflict apparently ended and the old voluteers are being treated like shyte!
The Shinners were in cohoots with the DUPERS in bringing home the anti sex worker law in Nordieland and were certainly turncoats on that issue!
Ride them on the beaches!
