LDM has stated he's leaving the forum after almost 15 years
one week short to be precise

He doesn't recognise the forum as it used to be when he first started posting

So I decided to go back in time to see exactly how forum members interacted back then

This thread was from the day he joined and although he didn't post on it
it gives an idea of how people interacted on the Forum at the time

I find what happened to the girl
(Irish-hazelx)in OP absolutely shocking

I hope times have changed for the better
and I hope she has found happiness
as do I for LDM

I think we can all be a little guilty of romanticising about the past

I'm personally glad I wasn't around back then I'd have been banned 🚫
for loosing my temper with some of the abusive comments

The Veteran LDM is putting on his slippers and retiring from us..Best of Luck LDM. Things have changed so much in Ireland and on site. I think we as a people are beginning to grow up slowly I might add ...Respect is a principle we should all have in our minds for everyone including ourselves.

What a brutal first post all those years ago. Stuff that makes you ashamed to be a man. I don’t think men really have any idea what women go through routinely let alone in a business like this.

Nostalgia for some imagined glorious past is a riff the likes of fascists and people insecure about their place in the world today go on about the whole time. It wasn’t great. Plenty of stuff that went on here in Ireland including state colluded rape, murder and torture we are all too familiar with.

My dad who is perhaps the person I admire more than anyone living or dead about 40 years ago told me it was none of our business that the man 4 doors down beat his wife. It took guts of a maybe 5 years before he picked up the phone and called the Gardai. Who came out once. The beatings didn’t stop but they moved somewhere where he not she could start again.

I miss bits of the past and some things were way better than today. I’d hate to be 15 again. Let’s not kid ourselves though that it was some fantastic utopia. The original thread shows we have evolved a bit . Maybe we are just internalising it but I’d like to think evolution has happened a small bit too.

Looks like there was a lot of low calibre clients back then or maybe the poor lady couldn’t screen property back then. I’m delighted to say that my experience with clients is that they are ordinary, decent gentlemen from all walks of life, we are lucky to have different screening methods to weed out the lowlifes that this poor lady experienced.

Im sorry this has happened to you and you shouldnt let this bring your morals down in anyway at all. I think thwere have been quite a few good suggestions on the topic so far all I can add is maybe screen more carefully this helps to avoid these types of people that we find everywhere in all walks of life. In regards to bored housewifes post I think each individual has a certain taste as to which ladies they prefer some like slim others like curvy and again others like very curvy so bear in mind your idea of perfection may not be another persons idea of perfection. And even go back as far as rural Ireland in the 80s and 90s that a woman's place is in the kitchen ( and that to be even allowed to be said was just shocking). We were made to think of woman as objects, small or large .

Do you know I think I’m some ways it’s worse now, I heard a song yesterday, I think it was by Doja Cat and the lyrics included the line “choke me until I pass out” on what planet is it ok for an influential female to sing those words?!!!!!

I’m always far more shocked by stories from my civvie female friends than my escort friends, affairs with much younger guys, casual one night stands though married to good men . . .

I just read the original post..OMG!! I have seen some things, but never thought, 'clients' could go to this extreme, this kind of behaviour is never okay, what a shame! I say 'clients' bc these jerks were just sad excuses of a man. I hope the lady has come to terms with herself and didn't let these bastards bring her down. Usually, when people spew hate, it is about them, not the recipient, they project their own issues. This can be detrimental for some and such nasty behaviour is never justified. Pfff

but isn't the fact that they are paying for 'perfection" the whole point? If they wanted doughy, bent-out-of shape women they would have screwed their wives? You cannot claim that your feelings were hurt in a job that eschews morals for the sake of a buck can you? This is based on your looks and if you don't look the part then that's it, game over.

The fact you think men are looking for your idea of perfection probably explains why your husband went elsewhere. Wind your neck in, there’s room for everyone of any size or shape and as long as the advert is truthful then these men are just being arseholes but if you can’t see that you have a lot to learn…
