A 'Fallen One' ?

A stranger you might see in a torrent or trouble . Would you step in ?

A Loved One , family -- of course ..

How far would you go ? Have you had to ??

How did you save that loved one of yours xxx ?


A pet ? Or a working creature on yer land . What and how much would you sacrifice

of your wallet and of your soul to save one ?


A stranger's child or your own .

A stray or your own beloved long companion pet ?

For family??
Personal safety and freedom were put at risk but not sacrificed.

You will get the trolls who will go off on tangents, nonchalantly making little of the O.P.
But it is genuinely, a very interesting anthropological question on the human psyche.

Is it permanent irreversible damage?
Or the willingness to risk it.
Is sacrificing things for your own benefit not a reall sacrifice at all? Does it have to be purely for someone else's benefit

You know when you're looking back at things, were an awful lot sacrifices just gambles. Is it easier to see gambles as sacrifices.
Easier to see the failed ones isn't it.

Worth the sacrifice, what does that even mean? If something wasn't worth the sacrifice?! Is it a bit of an odd statement. That's saying that sacrifices can be selfish and gambles, is it?

The ones that stick out have that permanent irreversible damage thing attached to them, kind of what made them sacrifices in the first place. Is it a lonely feeling?

ISB, this is very interesting as sacrifice is defined as giving up something valued for another consideration so effectively it is only a sacrifice if one has suffered a loss of some degree.
Whether it be a moral loss, financial, legal etc....
Whether it be for yourself or another.
The sense of risk is the gamble.
Finally, yes it is a very very lonely feeling and one that only you can justify to yourself and your own sense of values.
But...
Once that sacrifice and the loss that one has endured is justified to oneself then it matters not what other peoples opinions or thoughts may be on the issue.

For me if it was family or a friend I would sacrifice whatever it took to make sure that everything was ok and when it's an animal I would be willing to hurt anybody who picks on a defensively animal

I have risked my life for other humans but I wouldn't go as far for an animal. It bothers me that some people value animal life over human life.

Maybe I'm a little bit selfish but I would risk my life only for my daughter, not other person/animal.
