Score ended with 34-9 win for Samoa.
With what time was left, wasn't too sure if they would get the bonus point.

6 tries and 2 conversion won the game and not a single penalty kick or a drop goal.

    Tomorrow's match: Fiji vs Uruguay
My guessing, I expect a win for Fiji, winning by maybe 20 points and a possible bonus point, or just missing out on it.

Samoa win the match 34-9. Samoa upped their game in the second half but Russian fatigue also played a part. I think the WC format needs to be reviewed as the short turnaround between matches means that the weaker teams are at a disadvantage.

Brilliant prediction on margin WCL , didn’t look likely at half time. I agree that weaker teams are at a major disadvantage with turnaround times Would probably better to have a B championship of some description

Like today another short turnaround for Fiji but in their case they should still win the match. Uruguay are one of the weakest teams in the tournament and, on the evidence of the performance against Australia, I expect the Fijians to win by 20 to 25 points.

Yes , I’d say at least 25 of a margin for Fiji Good to see that Ireland’s injuries are improving

Shocking results, not expected at all.
Shame I am unable to watch these games being on so early and also over lapping with work.
But I am determined to watch the England match tomorrow.

Italy v Canada - 8:45am (Italy to win, my guess 25-15)
England v United State - 11:45 (England to win, my guess, 45-10)

Yes a real shock result today. Fiji are now in serious danger of not finishing in 3rd place in their pool which would mean they would not automatically qualify for the next World Cup in 2023. Uruguay play Georgia in their next match on Sunday and will be full of confidence after today`s victory.

Today`s WC matches are Italy v Canada and England v USA.

The Azzurri should win by 25 to 30 points and England, provided they show a significant improvement from their first match, should win by 35 to 40 points.

There are four changes in the Ireland line up to play Japan on Saturday. Rob Kearney and Keith Earls make their return from injury and replace Jordan Larmour and Andrew Conway while Jack Carty is named instead of Johnny Sexton who is rested for the match. Chris Farrell partners Garry Ringrose in midfield as Peter O'Mahony is fit to start in the back row. Joey Carbery is named on the bench following his recovery from his ankle injury but Robbie Henshaw is again left out of the matchday squad.

Ireland matchday squad to play Japan:

Kearney, Earls, Ringrose, Farrell, Stockdale, Carty, Murray, Healy, Best, Furlong, Henderson, James Ryan, O'Mahony, van der Flier, Stander.

Replacements: Cronin, Kilcoyne, Porter, Beirne, Ruddock, McGrath, Carbery, Larmour
