Whilst I agree with the sentiment of your post, there are 4 'countries' in the UK. What you say is true about one of those countries, since 1/6/2015-i.e. N. I.
What pertains in the other 3 constituent countries of the UK(ie Britain) is similar to what was the case in the Republic of Ireland, up to a couple of weeks ago-exchanging sex for money is legal but owning or managing brothels is illegal, soliciting in public is illegal, acting as a pimp is illegal. Brothel type establishments may be tolerated if operating under the name "massage parlours". All sex workers have to be over 18 years and in England/Wales, it is an offense to have sex with a sex worker who has been coerced into it.
Britain debated introducing a Swedish type of law, but opted against it. I believe in Scotland there may be some support for such a law and the SNP may be in favour of such.

Any punter that thinks he has the right to dictate to me what services I should offer & how much I should charge, can go & jump.
