Well done the Dubs. They don't know when they're beaten, and Mayo don't know how to kill a game.

Enjoy the rest of your break. 😘

Cannot understand why Gearoid McInerney wasn't nominated for player of the year. It is between Joe and Jamie Barron. Jamie had a brillant year for Waterford.

Andy Moran in my opinion should be player of the year for football. The Dubs might sweep that too.

Massive attendance at ladies football final and watching on TG4. They are making huge strides in their game. The 2 yellow cards before half time killed Mayo for the last 10 minutes. Energy was gone from them.

Absolute joke. Does nothing for Kerry hurling, creates a lot of dead rubber games and seriously hurts the development of the relegated team. It doesn't help Waterford and Wexford to continue developing as the big 3 and Galway will usually make provincial finals. Perhaps the worst thing it could cause is a Dublin relegation. Are the Dublin GAA going to heavily fund an effectively Christy Ring team and will footballers outside the football panel switch to hurling then? This will just pull the likes of Clare and Wexford closer to Laois/Westmeath standard and make the big 3 and Galway untouchable for the rest.

It will be good for hurling, 10 hurling counties with good chances of success, unlike the football where only 2 or 3 have a chance of winning

Once Gearoid wasn’t nominated then it was plain sailing for joe, after all the hardship and time he put in then you can’t begrudge him.
Well done Joe and well deserved, a gentleman and a sportsman
