I've had 2 guys move in on me when I was a single parent, so guys are pretty good at that too. I wised up eventually.

I would also say more men are unemployed than women but i don't know the figures

Men are caring creatures and when theres a fight with the wife, the man never will win so it he that packs his bags and goes and leaves her his mansion while he sleeps in a cardboard box.

I don't know, my best guess is that women are more likely to seek out help. Especially if they have children, there's more urgency and options available to get off the street. Men seem to feel ashamed if they're not able to provide for themselves. Cover things up and wont let on when life is spinning out of control, too much of a dent to their ego, in denial etc. Probably different reasons depending on age. Young woman will be homeless for different reasons to that of a middle aged man.

I think women with children are covered due to the child. A single woman would have no more right to accommodation than a man without children. I'm not sure if it is age specific? I mean a middle aged man is more likely to have a wage and an income maybe?

Women are probably catching up but you will still likely find more males with severe, chronic, intractable drink or drug problems, that may lead to homelessness.
Probably more males may have severe gambling addictions than females.
On average, males tend to be more violent, more likely to get barring orders, from the family home , against them.
Women with children or families may get faster access to emergency accommodation than say young males.
The most some of the latter may access is nightly access to some dodgy hostels, so they may opt to stay on the streets.
Is the female partner more likely to remain in the family home in cases of divorce ? With rising rents and costs might be difficult to fund 2 households where previously there was just one.
Males may sometimes be a bit more likely to become detached from family, friends, society than the average woman.
And post number 2 has some truth to it.
