    It may be a close enough outcome but I think Kellie Harrington will be the winner. Also, looking at the shortlist, I might be biased but I find it strange that Paul O`Donovan and Fintan McCarthy were not included. After all they, like Kellie, are Olympic gold medallists.

    Yes I thought Kellie Harrington would be more popular,

    still a racing man myself so delighted to see Rachel get it.

    Ireland goalkeeper Gavin Bazunu won the young sportsperson award, lightweight rowing coach Dominic Casey won the manager of the year award. Hall of Fame award for John Treacy. No awards for any of the Irish Olympic medallists which is a surprise.
