    Default Vpn

    Hi guys,

A few have asked about it and some have already been there.
This topic have been discussed already by management and unfortunately we are not going to be accepting VPN when reviews are being activated.

I do think that maybe in the near future we will accept VPN, but for now it is a no.

If you are unsure what VPN is, it is something that people are using to mask their IP Address.

More like your waiting to see if the reviews will drop off before ye do something about it, why not bring in the feature now ??

Just grab the neighbor's Wi-Fi when submitting reviews. Simple.

They might drop more if VPN reviews are allowed and the integrity of reviews is more important than the quantity surely.
If you allowed VPN reviews, wouldn't it just cause more fake reviews, more Escorts opting out, less reviews as a result of that, less reviewed and more doubt about the credibility of reviews?

Worth mentioning again that, to all intents and purposes, only your ISP knows who you are through your IP address. That is because they have your address from your bill.
They will only release this information with a court order and law-enforcement will not use this “sledgehammer to crack a nut” to pursue punters, and no judge would sign such a court order considering how trivial the alleged offence. In any case, even this is not 100% and this cannot alone, uncorroborated, be used as evidence.

Interesting case from some time ago was that the FBI indentified a large number of people from their credit card details who were downloading paedophile images from a pay-site. They passed a large number of British addresses on to the British Police who could not process them all because of the work-load caused by the sheer volume. No way the garda/psni could, even if they wanted to, and could legally do, track down and interview everyone who wrote a review. It would not be financially proportionate, not legally proportionate, wouldn’t have the manpower, and couldn’t be proven beyond reasonable doubt anyway. Just not going to happen.

Escort Ireland could use software to try and get an idea of your location, but such software is hit and miss at best and usually only identifies your country accurately [yeah, I live in Ireland , big deal]. It will attempt to narrow it down to a town, but this is very unreliable and often cannot even be relied upon to get the county right. It can, sometimes, by connecting to your router, identify your network name. This is by default usually “Microsoft Network” “Home Network” or the like but it is perhaps wise not to specify some network name that might help to identify you.

This can be done. One of the reasons IP Addresses cannot be used as uncorroborated evidence.
