More like the new Pontius Pilate, gradually washing his hands of a lot of things as he goes along.
The poor end of his electorate will probably have their Obamacare stripped anyway. One promise fulfilled, if the Senate approves it.

Just on his way to mucking up / murking up Separation of Church and State .

: He has vowed to gut the Johnson Amendment and he's well on doing it .

"Trump rolls back Johnson Amendment, allowing churches to endorse candidates"

    http://www.syracuse.com/politics/ind...andidates.html

This means he can enlist Churches to 'campaign' for him ,

this means churches now can be used to spew hate and endorse the 'right' candidates .

: Dictating political and social direction of a country from the pulpit .

    Sound familiar ??

Separation of Church and State is what is NOT in Islamic countries for example .

Where the Church can dictate Social rules (on women , gays , other faiths , etc. ) .

Scary scary direction for US to take !

While Irealand is becoming more progressive , shaking off the yoke of da Church ,

Trump is now moving US in the direction where Ireland was for centuries .

    Wise ?

We ( : the world and the lame polite Leaders of each capable country) are the Frog at the moment .

And that water is getting warmer getting hotter by the minute , by each passing day ,

with each signed and celebrated or reluctantly accepted "Executive Order" ,

that water is getting mighty hot ...

    Will we cook ??

Where there is religion, there is hate.
Religion should never be allowed to have any part in any law at all, as religion is a life choice and like many of us here, I am not religious and do not wish to follow their strange, horrible and ugly ways.

Or Ireland heading down the route of effectively turning over control of its proposed, new, national maternity Hospital, to a R. Catholic organization.
Which in future could conceivably lead to clashes about reproductive procedures, voluntary sterilization, abortion to save the life of the mother or indeed to secure her health.
The last option, btw, (the saving health bit) is illegal in Ireland, and wasn't helped by the wording of the third section of our last abortion referendum.
At this stage, it is likely that a majority of Irish people may favour limited abortion in cases of rape, incest, fatal fetal abnormality and to save the life or indeed avoid possible severe negative health consequences for the mother.

Trump is going to leave America damaged for years to come. he is focused on his base and guess where they go on a Sunday , I cannot see him going gracefully either via impeachment or if he gets to 2020 election when he should be defeated. Mind you the restrictions on voting etc now being pushed are designed for Republicans benefit. If he is removed defeated I suspect that base of his will be a serious issue.
I mean its hard to know where to begin, womens rights, environmental protection, discrimination on voting rights, praise of Dictators, Russia, China the enemy raping USA and after dinner with XI we are great friends, Mar A lago . The scale of money being made, the amount it is costing, the tweets , the wire tapping, Jesus i am worn out. Oh yeah tax returns, Xenophobia, misogyny, racism, support of Nazis (Richard Spence et al) and his murder of English , Alternative facts, inauguration crowd FFS anyone else would be gone by now. Inciting violence, ok I think thats enough .
And yes as Steph says the barrier on religion going a la Turkey

Oh well, while I am still running around on this Earth, I will do what I can to have the world follow my ideas.

Of course a god doesn't exist, but if god(s) did, then they can judge me when I'm dead

While I used to think we are moving forward on certain thinks. A couple of things have have happened in the past few months have lead me to believe the Church are still very powerful and it will probably take another Generation before all the Bishops, priests and Nums that still pull all the strings at the top to Die!!
Here is a few examples of what I mean.

The state building a Maternity Hospital worth €300 million and Gifting it the Sisters of Charity just so for the privilege to build on their land!! Why not use a compulsory purchase order to take the land for it's market value?
Earlier this week we had the Vote to Abolish the pray before Dail sessions was defeated by 95votes to 15 with 20 absentees. Catholic Ireland alive and well in dail eireann!!
Also this week the Government voted to let Saudi Arabia onto UN commission for women rights. Considering Saudi Arabia treat women like second and third class citizens, our government ignored all that and voted them in to benefit us commercially. Finally, and this has being done to death on this site, the law criminalising the purchase of sex was spear headed by a relative small catholic lobby group. I have no doubt in my mind had this being brought to a public referendum it would not have being passed.
