I agree, like most others, but I think it's a valid discussion, because it is always useful to ensure anonymity when using the website.

The easy ability for enforcement agencies to get ip addresses and to decode them could make users of the website a target for sting operations. Unlikely for sure, but it really is unknown how far the guards will go from time to time.

The use of a VPN for some people makes s lot of sense, as it make tracing users a lot more difficult.

Education is never a bad thing. For example those Swedish videos, even though I think the poster was a tool, it is interesting to see the sting tactics and what was done wrong by the punter to get caught.

Problem with TOR and the like is the use of it draws attention to yourself. Your service provider wonders what you are up to.
Using TOR will attract more attention than viewing EI.
If they do know and care that you, along with hundreds of others, are looking at EI, they only know you are looking, not exactly what you are looking at, nor do they know if you are posting here or not.

Tor is the only onion browser i know of.
You cant use tor to log on or view the site, I just tried.
Done a search online and a user from this site confirmed it.
Tor does not work.

Can your IP address be used to track you here by the Garda or will the have to try and get it from EI,I seen it on some newspaper some time ago that the Garda were going to use this,now I know you can hide your IP address or change it even to another Country, Anyone here know much about the IP addresses,

It is cheap and easy to use. Free VPN's are loaded with nasty viruses.
