    The only thing I can suggest is how to best search the internet for escorts going forward

    if you do decide that you want to continue doing what you do.
    use a VPN for your computer (not browser).
    I would suggest vpnbook as it is 100% free

    install Firefox on your computer and get the noScript add-on

    when you decide that you want to search online.
    open browser clear all the cookies and the cache and close again.
    activate vpn
    open the browser (or firefox private window so you dont have to worry about history)

    then use duckduckgo search engine (no tracking)
    when you go onto a website you may have to allow certain scripts to run in order for the website to work.
    Don't allow all scripts but temporally allow the first script from the list.
    Then refresh the page.

    if you still want to be extra careful
    you could also get a vpn add on for firefox.
    (Hotspot Shield) its also free.

    and go through two vpn's
    bear in mind that your browsing speed my slow down.

    Exactly, I was with a lady earlier on today and the last few weeks she has never seen it as quiet, she was even considering bringing down her prices a little, to see if it would make much of difference, but I don't think it will make much of a difference, all this talk of the law, is scaring off punters. I think it will be very quiet for ladies for a while and as for established ladies on their own in apartments, I have visited only about half a dozen ladies who have been on their own over the years, even the most established indies on here share, for their own safety and they will continue to share, we will just have to see how strictly this law is enforced, if at all.

    I don't see how a punter couldn't get nabbed just because the ladies they visit charge a higher rate, I don't think that is relevant at all, you could nabbed anywhere.

    Got my VPN sorted now. So... business as usual. Of course there's risk visiting a lady but so long as you're not stupid about it you should be ok.

    But better clients won't break the law or take the risk as too much to lose, also an increase in prices will put them off out of principal alone as double kick in the balls

    There is risk even with well established and very discreet escorts, Why should I risk it while the escort sits in her cosy apartment without a care in the world and if I am nabbed she couldn't care less about it and thats a fact and why should she. For the reason if the escorts were giving it away to me I wouldn't be booking.
    I have other options and not that desperate yet

    you can't compare the law in the NI to this one, there have been raids but the PSNI were giving a period of Grace (a lengthy one at that) for clients to accustomise themselves to the new law, in other words it was not enforced properly but that could change soon

    I disagree that well established and very discreet Escorts will not care !!
    you must remember this is their profession and if they are not caring and good
    at it they wont be making a living out of it for long.

    We were having a chat about this last evening in the chatroom. I am at a loss about what they are trying to accomplish from the act. Lets put some numbers into the debate;

    1. Say an average of 700 escorts working (there are 728 today, but for the sake of argument)
    2. Say each escort has three clients a day (from my "hands on", intensive research this seems about right, but I am open to correction)
    3. This means the behaviour of 2,100 punters a day is criminalised with the passing of the Act (on the basis there are few enough of us that regularly see more than one escort a day, and if there are they won't impact on the statistics, but fair due to them!)
    4. On a weekly basis, the number of new criminals is 14,700 (on the on the basis there are few enough of us that regularly see more than one escort a week, and if there are they won't materially impact on the statistics, but fair due to them!)
    5. Using that reasoning the number of new criminals the cops have to chase (or the number of criminal acts now being committed annually) is 764,400. But of course there are many of us repeat offenders.
    6. Say the number of annual punts is 7 (again, open to comment). If that is so, the number of additional criminals for the cops is 109,200

    On the other hand, using the above numbers, lets take a look at the economics of the trade;

    1. What is the cost of the average punt? Most 30 mins appointments are €100, but some appointments are 45 mins/1hr or more. For the sake of argument, lets say €110.
    2. €110 times 764,400 (keep up, the number of punts over the year) is €84,084,000. Is turnover like that something the state should be thinking about regulating rather than banning (especially for no reason?). After all, there are already anti trafficking laws, and laws against withholding the liberty from folk.

    All in all, it seems to be ideologically driven, and bonkers to me.

    Any other thoughts?
