Is it being over optimistic to say that it could take a few months before the new Act actually becomes legislation that is implemented 'on the streets' ?

Similar situation as that, but we'll keep the chin up.

Couple of weeks maybe would be my guess.
Do you think we could get to him with another angle? I'll write one there now...

Michael McDowell has a column in Sunday Business Post today describing the attempt to shove through the legislation as a "scandal".

    Dear Michael,

I'd like to draw your attention to the amount of students mentioned in the article below.

    https://www.google.ie/amp/www.evenin...ndroid-samsung

Any parent with a pretty daughter in college is facing a high chance of her offering sexual services masked as something else.

1 in 5 for the tech, 1 in 11 for the University. Both roughwork, it is Sunday.

This bill will do nothing to protect her and everything to harm her. In two ways.

First is by pushing bad clients in her direction. Second is by putting her in a position where she is afraid to tell.

The "bad clever client" is a scary guy and he will target the weakest link among us. Right now that is the streetwalker, addict and lower end prostitute. College girls look like too much work.

With the new bill, the streetwalker becomes a liability with loose lips. The independent escort and college students who are clever enough to mask services become the safe alternative.

The statistics will fall. Some amount of ignorant clients will stay away. Knowledgeable clients will not, they will simply displace.

There are not enough independent escorts to deal with displacement and independent escorts know to stay away from bad clients.

Student girls are not equipped to deal with bad clients and they won't recognise when they are being preyed on quickly enough for it to matter.

This can include physical abuse of course but much more worrying is the emotional abuse that is a certainty with long lasting effects.

I've seen the emotional trauma of blackmail on a student and, I would do anything to keep bad clients away from these young girls.

You are sacrificing them to save streetwalkers and addicts. I'm not saying you should sacrifice either, find a way to protect both.

    Yours,

    Sarah Barra

its just a rough draft to see how its goes and amendments to be made later. They and other innocents are collateral damage in a sense
What exactly is a bad client? that is the question, the image we project on here could be very different to the one outside,

I don't quite know myself, I haven't met one in person yet. I just know he exists, I've heard stories and, I am afraid of him. He's the boogey man.

I think he's texted me a few times and even tried his hand at blackmail but that's as far as it's gone. I think he's the guy that when you look into his eyes there's nothing there because he doesn't see you at all.

No I take the blackmail part back. That was a bad stupid client. If it were bad clever client I'd be in trouble and I wouldn't know how to deal with it.

God I don't know, all I know is SWAI will fail because they represent all sex workers and, they can't say things like I did and get away with it. They can't say with certainty that their people aren't victims and, that makes them weak.
