It's scheduled for AFAIK it's final parliamentary hurdle tomorrow with a rush job through The Seanad starting at 4.45pm.

For all we know we mightn't even have a Government with the obscene way events are turning out @ the momement!

Once passed, it goes to Higgins (he's swaning around South America @ the mo) for signing or referal (he is highly unlikely to refer it to The Council of State) and it may have a commencement date placed on it which might even be a few weeks down the road!

When it is sent to the president, there is an option to refer it to the Supreme Court to check its constitutionality however in this instance, it seems unlikely and the bill will be signed into law by the president.

The date of commencement is the big one i.e. the day the Act takes legal effect and it may be the case that (i) it could take immediate effect or more than likely at a point sometime in the future e.g. 1st of June/January.

God I don't know, all I know is SWAI will fail because they represent all sex workers and, they can't say things like I did and get away with it. They can't say with certainty that their people aren't victims and, that makes them weak.
