• Addressing a gender anomaly in the laws on incest;
• New offences addressing public indecency;
• Maintaining the age of consent to sexual activity at 17 years of age and to provide for a new “proximity of age” defence; and
• To criminalise the purchase of sexual services.

When enacted, the Bill will bring Irish law into line with a number of international legal instruments as well as implementing the recommendations of a number of Oireachtas committees.

Whilst most of the above Bill is welcomed, there are a few things I cannot help but wonder about the last bolden part of the Bill

Of all the details of the Criminal Law (Sexual Offences) Bill 2015, the one part which is reveiving relatively little media coverage is "To criminalise the purchase of sexual services."

It appears to me as if Frances Fitzgerald (and others sharing the same agenda) have lumped "criminalising the purchase of sexual services" into a Bill which nobody could really question (think about it), so as to sneak the most important (think about it ) part in under the radar.

It also appears to me that with the aim to "criminalising the purchase of sexual services" (and subsequent comments which Frances Fitzgerald and others sharing the same agenda) have made in prior interviews, that Frances Fitzgerald and all other concerned are more interested in regulating sexual behaviours than in supporting and protecting persons working in the Sex Industry in Ireland
