Been looking at hybrids. I greatly dislike road bikes your
Kinda thrown over the bars. Id be looking for a bike i could do good distance on including a few over 100km.
But also a good day to day bike.
Plus front and back carriers ideal (for dog)
Im 5ft 10 so am i better with a mens bike?

    Any advice be great

Ive also had a few bikes nicked over the years but cycle to pub shit happens so be looking budget wise under 300

    I cant have nice things
The Bike you need is called a Touring Bike. They are designed to travel long distances in comfort but not necessary speed. I think you you're being a bit unrealistic with your budget and like Zilch said you should be looking at spending at least twice that, otherwise you have nothing but trouble with it. These bikes come with mudguards, chainguards(important if you like wearing white socks ) Carriers (front and back) and set up with lights. These are going to be heavier than your standard road Bike they also have the correct gearing to suit all conditions. And if your going to tackle the Ring of Kerry you're going to need the low gears.

There's no point worrying about it getting robbed and Invest in a good lock and lock it around both the frame and Wheels. Most petty thieves won't go near it, if its locked well. A good lock will cost between €30 to €50 and is well worth it. You will also need some decent light weight rain gear and Helmets and Bicycle repairs kit, spare tubs and Bicycle pump. Allow a further €100 to €150 for this. All in all you won't come out with much change out of a €1000 but it will be the best money you ever spent. If you can avail of the "bike to work scheme" you will get your Tax back bringing this down to about €600. But I have found it vertically impossible to avail of this as a self employed person, but if you had a friend that you could buy it through their company and share the gains

I have given a link to a ladies and gents bike but you can look at other makes and in other stores. Don't be afraid to ask to test cycle them, and most good bike shops will set the bike up to your most comfortable position .

To anyone that doesn't like me here.
I hope you need to pee 3 times tonight, but that you only wake up twice.
