There were people in Ireland, thousands of years before Celtic languages diffused in. What they spoke is unknown. Some have surmised a language or languages related to modern Basque, but this is mere speculation. How a Celtic language arrived in Ireland and the numbers bringing it, is also the subject of speculation - from gradual cultural diffusion, to large scale invasion. The truth probably lies in the middle.

10,000 years of Middle Eastern civilisation and the place is not at peace but rather in pieces.

The idea that 'fuck' came from rapists being tried "For Unlawful Carnal Knowledge", is also folk etymology, ie bs.

    1066 and all that!
What did the Normans ever do for us.
Changed the course of world history for one and spurred the change from old to middle English for another (setting us on the path to the language we have today).

They introduced (over time) many new terms to English - including many terms from the continent, for their "nobles", eg viscount, marquis etc.
Interestingly, "Count" didn't make it in from the Continent, instead the Normans adopted the Anglo-Saxon term "Earl" in its stead. It is surmised that this may be because "Count" and "cunt" sound so similar.
Countess was though retained as the female counterpart for "Earl".

For those who like pointing out errors, at one place in this video 8th century B.C.,should have been 8th century A. D.
Ireland's only native land reptile is the common or viviparous lizard - not a newt, which anyway is an amphibian.
