In one of its last acts of 2016,the cabinet has given approval to justice minister, Frances Fitzgerald, to draft a new non-fatal offences(amendment) bill to make "revenge porn '' and cyber bullying criminal offences.
The legislation is expected to be drafted in 2017
Needed, no doubt, in many instances, but the cyberbullying section could possibly become, in part at least, a complainers' charter.

There is a need to stop the vicious cyber bullying of vulnerable people, there is a need to stop revenge porn and real stalking! I wouldn't trust the clown we have as the minister for everyone else's interior to draft an appropriate non over the top law and without huge unintended consequences!
She is abundantly out of her depth, her predecessor is a man who knew his stuff!
