Why do escorts charge more for this service than for massage or escort?

I would imagine it is down to the cost of equipment and attire that they wear. For some a lingerie set and a bottle of baby oil is all they use during a service where a dominatrix will have (well should have as some who advertise domination only have the items i have already mentioned. This is based on my experience from previous encounters when the domination and escort profiles were the same so everyone ticked the domination box. I think that this has been cleared up based on what i can see being advertised) a variety of attire such as leather, PVC, boots, shoes, nylons (not the ones from Pennys) a range of equipment and toys which can range in price, some of which will cost a lot more than the cost of the booking.
Apart from that I think that domination is a very specialised area and the ladies who are good at it should be paid accordingly as we Dom clients are a complicated bunch and need a lot of attention.

Slave, I agree with you in general, but most of these items have a long life.
I would have thought that we, certainly i, would visit a domme less frequently than escorts,
Certainly it is difficult to get the relationship right,as to what you want, and what you need. One can imagine that you can take a lot more before a visit. I think you need to visit many times before you get the 'relationship' correct. I have had good experiences in London, but find it much more difficult here in Dublin.
