The homeless or NSPCC for childline. A lot of young people enter into sex work because they haven't had the support and care that they needed either at home or in the system. Childline can help them to cope and keep them safe when they have no one else to talk to. A lot of young people are lost on the streets too.

That would excluded all the escorts in Galway, Limerick and Athlone. I would have to go to Dublin and visit dozens of escorts before I find one with a gunine profile. What a waist. Wouldn't be nice if there was a website with all guinuine profiles?

OK, let's stay on the topic. But I won't have time to report all those escorts.

Osama buddy you sound like an unhappy camper, i come on here for a laugh and a bit of banter and keep my exploits private , all you seem to do is knock everything may i suggest that you save up a few bob and go see a proper lady.Having said that your whinging and moaning is not gona help your cause with the genuine and established ladies.

Oh and for those of you that don't know. Childline deal with young people up to their 19th birthday, so I wasn't suggesting it's all 13 year olds going into sex work like some people do in the media

I used to support several charities including Concern, Irish cancer society and St Vincent de Paul either by direct debits or doing sponsored events like 10K runs etc. But after reading a few articles and seeing the nonsense that goes on in console I have become very cynical of the whole thing. In the vast majority of cases, most of the money goes into the running of these business with some of the top guys and girls usually appointed by the Goverment getting in excess of €100,000 a year or in some case could get €30,000 just to sit on a board that might meet 3 or 4 times a month. It's a money making racket in a lot of the big ones. Now don't get me wrong in most cases they still do a good job but I think they need to be more transparent with where the money goes, what portion goes to running the businesses and what goes to the actual helping the good cause!!
Even Pieta House which is a great charity has some very well paid employees.
It's hard to know how to fix this but if there was a way to crowd fund and then just go get what was needed, weather it was new cancer screening machine or more councilors for people with depression, that way you would see more bang for your buck. But I suppose a start now would be more accountability for whats done with the money.

Well done on showing some initiative and supporting a good cause, but choose wisely
