There appears to be a significant increase in these raids in recent months. Clearly the order has been given from the boss to start a crackdown in anticipation of the new regime.

Your well wide of the mark here Dock. Clearly punters are not the target YET but that is about to change. More importantly this was clearly not a case of human trafficking and from the reports it appears that
the escorts concerned did not appear to have been exploited in anyway. Finally your assertion that there is any meaningful pan European crackdown is a sick joke. Europe is awash with millions of people who have paid money
to get here over the last few years and their is absolutely no plan to deal with this.

Well as someone who is campaigning for the decriminalisation/legalisation of sex work there is a worry. Clearly the more the cops crack down on girls who often trade together for safety the more they are in danger of falling foul of criminal elements
working within the industry. In most cases it is unsafe for escorts to work alone a small number of independents do manage to operate within the law as it stands but their task will be made more difficult when the new laws come in. The bottom line is that the prevailing attitude within government is very much anti sex work regardless of the context it is all considered bad and this filters down to operational procedures regarding the police. However, you are probably correct in stating that more upmarket escorts in trendy locations will most likely be relatively untouched.
I think one thing is for sure and that is Upmarket Clients - The Great and The Good - will always get a free pass on this one!
Pressure may also be brought to bear to incriminate clients, given that the proposed law as it stands increases penalties on sex workers and that will give the pigs latitude to use to force the ladies to squeal!
BTW a mate of mine visited an escort in Dublin last month and the next day arranged to meet a well reviewed escort and it was in the exact same apartment, which technically is then a brothel!

Great point Libertarian a number of girls who claim to always work on their own do in fact operate from premises which at least part of the time have more than one lady. I for
one don't blame them as the safety aspect should outweigh any legal aspects. Also too true that some women will squeal and take their clients down but again I would be slow to attach any blame.
Anyway it will always boil down to bad luck as the pigs can only catch a small minority of punters no matter how zealous they are about enforcing the law.

I think it is technically only a brothel if 2 or more escorts are working there at the same time. Who is to say the first escort hadn't left and moved to another location and the second escort had just moved in that day?
