Trump proves that propaganda, bombast, divide and conquer, fear, demagoguery, mud slinging, bare faced lying and effrontery are paths to power , at least in uncertain economic times or when people feel under threat from immigration and changing demography.
There are always a lot of followers in search of a messiah, but I doubt Trump will be leading anyone to the land of milk and honey anytime soon.

I had a great discussion with the local TUV candidate when he came canvassing here before the last election. 4 page pamphlet he handed me, 3 and a half pages of which were about what Sinn Fein & Co. were doing, and a half page about what they want to do. It was easy for me to tell him to GTFO after seeing that.
The trouble is the damage that will be done will take decades to reverse.
