It all depends on how you define the word trafficked, most people assume that a trafficked girl is being forced to work against her will, I doubt that is what happened in this case

That is the definition in the dictionary and it is the definition that should be used in court, but Ireland have manipulated the word to mean anyone assisted in to the country.

How can the judge find the girls guilty if he doesn't believe them when they say they are working alone? So he believes they are forced but they are still guilty!!!!! Oh and I'll have the €5000 that I believe you were forced to earn...... and now I'll fine you €200..... but you just took all their money....!!!!!

Sorry but this is like putting witches in a barrel ..... the girls cannot win!!

Why are they taking their earnings from them and then fining them 200e each. Even if they can legitimise the taking of earnings believing that the pimp would get it, there is no explanation for fining the girls. Fining them for being vulnerable (which they suggest they are).

It's theft. It's stealing from the poor to give to the rich (Ruhama).

I am not really understanding how they are calling them 'young girls' when one of them is 30 and the others all in their 20's. They are not exactly the 13 year olds that Ruhama keep going on about. They are adults.
A Fine is nothing,it just procedure by the courts and its to show the public that a fine will be necessary in this matter and they will be treated the same as any other offence, they wont have to pay it, afterall they got the 5000 euros which was confiscated from the escorts.

But they were not guilty if they were forced to work, that is my point. I know they say they were not forced to work, but the court has not acknowledged that and believes them to have been forced. I would like to think they take the money out of the confiscated money. It's a little less for Ruhama anyway.

Jesus christ!!!!! These were trafficked women. "Con job escorts"?..... its like you're talking about a con job car sale or something like that.
The way a lot of you talk about the ladies on this sight makes me sick!!!!!! God knows how these ladies ended up on our shores working for some gangster scum.

You wanted cheap punt's with all your whining about being ripped off here in Ireland

Well you got your cheap punts... but with a price.

The Garda are hitting brothels.... answer = stay the fuck away from them!!!!

Your lining the pockets of scum that probably got the girls over her under false pretences. And any punter using a woman that might not be there out of choice cos their getting a good rate has added to this situation with the Garda.... and has also made the pimps richer.

Its so fukn obvious.................STAY AWAY FROM BROTHELS!!!!!!!

There's no talk about how the girls got here, how they were treated.... and why the hell should they be fined and deported knowing they were trafficked.

most of what i read on these boards is "it's getting harder to punt" and "rip off ireland" and "the quality of escorts getting bad"

Why would you work here if punters wont pay for professional independant ladies.... i know if i wasn't from ireland id fuck off to a country warmer, cheaper and more appreciative of the service we provide!! And didn't moan moan moan about the price,

You're a huge part in this situation at the moment, you wanted your cheap punts so you got them, along with the opportunist pimps and traffickers!!!

So many gangs have brothels around Ireland... Thats why they're getting targeted. And it has a lot to do with anon men dictating what we should charge,

Stick to who you know.... and be grateful for having so many class independent girls still working here still!!!!!

I know there are some gems on this site....i'm' just referring to the type of men that see women as objects and have no concept of us being human and with emotion....and we actually have lives, children, bills, cars, mortgages and then the very expensive overhead involved when doing this job doing this job.

The first thing that popped into my head was "i really hope those ladies are safe when they get home" unlike a lot on here.

But they're not blaming the pimp or saying they were forced into it, that is the key point here, pimp is out of the picture completely, they say they are doing it to feed their families and running the business themselves and in saying so are committing an offence (running a brothel) so no option here in the eyes of the law (no matter how crazy it is) but to hand down a fine, as I say its procedure but they wont really have to pay it.
You could see further pressure put on these girls too as not only deportation looms anyway but a stint in prison too if they don't play ball

Not that I believe everything that was printed. It mentioned in the article and I quote the ruling was the women were being used by others not before the court. So basically saying it's not your fault but here's a fine anyways!

we got to remember here too that every judge is different and it all down to their own discretion and yes although the police/courts seem to strongly believe the women are being trafficked but when they don't cooperate it leaves them with no option but to hand down a fine for their own involvement.
