I'm still always amazed how these raids get reported. The girls are always Trafficked, for a juicier story. If indeed the girls were Trafficked, then why not go after the Pimps instead of the girls?

It all depends on how you define the word trafficked, most people assume that a trafficked girl is being forced to work against her will, I doubt that is what happened in this case

That is the definition in the dictionary and it is the definition that should be used in court, but Ireland have manipulated the word to mean anyone assisted in to the country.

How can the judge find the girls guilty if he doesn't believe them when they say they are working alone? So he believes they are forced but they are still guilty!!!!! If they believe these women are trafficked and the women have told them that they are there because their families are poor and they need money. Why are they taking their earnings from them and then fining them 200e each. Even if they can legitimise the taking of earnings believing that the pimp would get it, there is no explanation for fining the girls. Fining them for being vulnerable (which they suggest they are).

I am not really understanding how they are calling them 'young girls' when one of them is 30 and the others all in their 20's. They are not exactly the 13 year olds that Ruhama keep going on about. They are adults.

we got to remember here too that every judge is different and it all down to their own discretion and yes although the police/courts seem to strongly believe the women are being trafficked but when they don't cooperate it leaves them with no option but to hand down a fine for their own involvement.
