Thread: 'Gay cake' appeal: Christian bakers Ashers lose appeal

I am surprised this thread is still running. Talk about dividing opinion.
It reminded me of an earlier case when Christian B&B owners didn’t want gay men banging each other in there God blessed house. The get around the law their service was for married couples only.
They were warned it was discrimination, went to court, appeal court, Supreme Court then European court.
Guess what? It was still discrimination in law. Story went cold after European Court so I assume they lost.

They are running a private business , not setting government policy .
They also have been specifically targeted which in my opinion is unfair , is there only 1 bakery in NI?
They breached a contract. Also they are Christians their business is not.
What if "It's Raining Men" and 'Let the bodies hit the floor' are both about the same event but from different perspectives 🤔

Again, depends is it a Gay butcher's or a butcher's run by Gay people? ARE they stupid enough to enter into a contract and then back out as opposed to refusing point blank?

This may seem a bit dramatic but if the bakery had made a cake requested by someone who wanted a homophobic or racist message on it then had the bakery gone ahead and did it they would have been hanged, drawn and quartered (not literally) and rightfully so.....public percerption like the perception of escorts for example is often down to peer pressure and a fear of going against the trend.
Yeah I know I am going off topic here but hope what I say resonates a little and makes some kind of sense.
I do think it was the correct decision btw.

Both sides were backed financially by their own interests groups & should both fuck off IMHO.

If it was a genuine incident that would be different as far as I'm concerned.

I don't like being manipulated on important issues.
Very valid point at this stage I have forgotten all the facts of the case thanks.
