You could have the vaccine for HPV today and still carry it and it may never stop being dormant. Most people do not get cancer or any other illness from it. Where as Chlamydia can be cured once it has been discovered and once it has been treated it won't do any harm.
Me personally I would not enter into a relationship with anyone without having tests first if I was considering having unprotected sex with them and I would expect my partner to do the same. There are many STI's that can be in the system without knowing, as often symptoms don't show up straight away. Anyone participating in any sexual exploits, be it with sex workers, swinging, casual sex or fuck buddies, should get regular tests, even if they do everything protected, as accidents do happen.
Jessica you can't expect people to not have concerns about STI's when entering into a world of sex with unknown people. As long as they are not pointing the fingers and making assumptions and are willing to listen that is what matters. I would rather have someone asking questions than asking me for bareback any day of the week.
