    Default Was this review helpful?

    Good Afternoon,

We are trying to improve our reviewing system and its credibility.
With this in mind we have introduced a new feature where a logged in user will be able to say if the review was helpful to him.

Only logged in clients will be able to vote. You can vote on each review once.
This is not affecting the rating of the review, simply states that this review was found useful and helpful when the decision of booking has been made.

We might want to elaborate on the idea in the feature and for example add information how many reviews of given user were found useful, but this is something to discuss.

Looking forward to receiving your feedback,

    L
    Xxx

I see both a thumbs up and a thumb down on these reviews now. If someone says the review was helpful does the the second thumb symbol then go up or something?

Sorry but the thumbs up and down has to be stupidest idea yet, you forget guys that look at profiles are horney idiots being driven by their dicks, enough thumbs down on a review they'll think it's a negative for the lady and not the review.

This idea is often done on sites like Amazon, and it sounds like common sense. However I often find I am baffled as to why some reviews are heavily up-voted or down-voted.

I think if this was accompanied by a sticky thread in Reviews Chat, called something like "What do I want to see in a review?", so people can make it clear what makes a review helpful, the thread might prove more useful than the votes. It would need to be heavily moderated, because these discussions always bring the trolls out.

It is very possible that people (other males) who dislike a certin reviewer for whatever reson could vote thumbs down when they see a particular reviewer name rather than it having anything to do with the escort. Old grudges and that kind of thing.

we did it with the idea in mind of tacking the fake reviews problem as many were under the impression that there are reviews that might not necessarily by useful, but yet are published.
this will not affect any rating given to the review, just sends a signal that you found this review helpful and the contribution of this reviewer useful.
many called upon a trusted reviewer scheme, this will give you a chance to tell others that you find this reviewer's content useful.

Another tweak to this would be to have a score shown on each review that reflects the feedback for that reviewer.

Eg 32/35 would mean that person had received 32 thumbs up and 3 thumbs downs.

That effectively gives you an automatic "Trusted Reviewer" indicator.

I am sure we can tweak it depending on what would be useful to make it work for everyone.
well maybe not for everyone, but for the majority.
please let me have your ideas.

yes, it is possible, but I hope that common sense will prevail.

at the same times users were calling to bring back the trusted reviewer status.
we could not do that directly, as that did not work, but hopefully we can meet this demand in a different way.

Only people calling for that stupid ridiculous status to be brought back were probably the idiots that were abusing it in the first place, calling girls, announcing they were trusted reviewers and looking for discount for a favourable review, seemingly that practice was rampant.
