I just can't believe we live in a country where you can't do what you want to do with your life and choices. And we have a government that feels it can judge people for how they choose to make money and how they do it. If you take away everything from the bill effecting this business except the trafficking parts it's a very good bill including the parts protecting children which is so important in this country.
But nobody has the right to dictate the choice a person makes to survive.
The government supports Apple and how they don't pay their taxes ? And yet they can't support people's rights to live and work in safety and in some cases work at something they enjoy ?
I think for all the abuse Alan Shatter took he was the voice of reason in this country he lived in the real world , not the old Ireland that still excists where the State and Religious orders and basically people that can't move forward run it.
Things will never change we will always be a society that does what it is told.
The generation gap is still to far apart the older society of morals they believe in have pushed this through. And yet those morals cannot see the important things. Homelessness , poverty , poor health service , austerity the list goes on. No they want to concentrate on this bill and make that the priority and they will enjoy every minute of it because it's easy and will suddenly give the politicians recognition in Europe that they so desperately want. Wait and see it will be all over the papers and lots of slaps on the back. Sad really.

    This is the problem.
There is a wider principle at stake here than just escorting.
If they cross this line what other laws will follow?

Unfortunately I think it's a forgone conclusion now unless something drastic happens this week. I also agree with you in relation to other laws. But unfortunately we live in a society that accepts it. We only have ourselves to blame. The easiest route will always be taken by the government. It's like the upcoming budget , yes we will all have a moan about it but a week later things back to normal. Unfortunately this new law will give them great publicity both nationally and internationally and the Gardai to. Both parties need it and it's easy to Police. Maybe when the generation changes we will live in a real world society.

I was reading the thread,i don't think that it would be in the best interest of the escort to give a statement against the client after all that how she makes her money, and as everybody knows the guards can see anything you put up on the forums, thats all I have to say about this,

Also it's their choose what they do with their bodies and if they enjoy what they do that's an even bigger plus there so many people in the world with jobs they actually hate not saying it's everyone.
Generalisation of the industry caused by small percentage of trafficking etc has caused the law to change. And the saddest part is the Gardai will jump all over it , it's will be the simplest thing to manage like speeding or tax and insurance on cars. They just have to look in one place .................. This web site.
Its not the escorts and service providers that could end up in court and charged but.
I cant really say what way it will affect the escorts as i am not a escort myself.
I know since it came in up north it has not affected my chances of punting.
