I have several big throws and always have a throw over the bed which is soft and cosy to play on and if it gets a bit messy, then it's in the washing machine and they dry really quickly over night, so easy to sort out, but that's when I'm home. I bring one with me when I'm touring as well, as I really don't like the idea of leaving stains behind in a hotel room and it's better than having no alternative.
