Dolly, there is an old saying or seanfocal in Irish. It goes something like this......

"Nil aon Thontine mar do hThontine fein".

Translated into English, it means...."There's no backside/arse like your own backside/arse".

I'm not quite sure about the spelling....but I'm sure Highway or Anon would be able to give you an exact version.

You could also change it to "Nil aon Thontine mar mo hThontine fein" and use it as your Irish slogan. It would be great for drumming up the business in the Gaeltacht areas.

Some of the spelling maybe dodgy as it's been a while since I've written Irish. And I never knew a word for testical or had any use for it. I presume it's testical as some words are similar.

I needed help with my Irish before Dolly and the gents on here were most helpful. Wilko88 in particular was a star. Sorry I can't help, I was too busy being bold in school to learn my Irish properly and also I'm a Dub and us Dubs aren't always as good at Irish as others around the country, though I can only speak for myself of course, apologies in advance to any Dubs that speak perfect Irish.

Your right about Dubs not having good Irish. Dublin students go off to the gaeltacht areas in Donegal, Galway, kerry every year to learn Irish.Why is that when it's the same curriculum they use. Are they all bold in school like Patricia was?

It's "póg mo thóin", not "póg mo thón". "Mo", denoting possession of something, throws an extra i into the noun.

And don't get me started on those bastard urús
