I think the screening offered at the hospital is more comprehensive. Whether that is better or not depends on your perspective.
Most hospitals will want your full name and contact details, as will GP's, (if you provide them with incorrect details they only know if they try to contact you) whereas community based testing programs don't always ask for information and are willing to accept as little as possible in most cases.

SO choosing where you go requires a bit a thought:
    - What kind of test would you like?
    - How much anonymity do you need?
    - How far can you travel?
    - How much money have you got?
    - How quickly do you want the result?
    - Are you ok with it remaining on your medical record?

These things all impact. Some people don't think about it all...but for those who do have these types of considerations, it can actually prevent them from testing.

Where are you in all this Dixon? Do you think about testing?

Yep, you just bring a clean willy.

I think blood, urine and swab is needed to check for everything. It's all googlable 😉

Guys do you think it makes sense to get HPV vaccination beforehand? Any idea if escorts here get any vaccinations done? As they say, precaution is better than cure 😉

Went to the GMHS on Baggot Street (I'm not gay but have the odd encounter with TS so suppose I am for their purposes) for a check up the other week. It's free and they offer evening walk in appointments from 5pm, unlike the wait around all day approach that the GUIDE clinic in James uses which requires a day off from work. Service was excellent. Offered a rapid HIV test, all the usual blood tests and urine screening. They also vaccinated me against hepatitis B, as apparently I had low natural immunity to it. They also text you to confirm all clear, couldn't recommend them enough.

    Hi Striker,

The blood test only checks for Full Blood Count, HIV, Syphillis, HBV and if you have a history of IV drug use they sometimes check for HCV.

The urine analysis, swab and visual check are the comprehensive parts of the screening that look for bacterial infections in other areas and also viruses like warts and herpes. If there is an indication during a visual exam that you might have warts or herpes then sometimes they do a blood test to confirm. Generally, they just treat the symptom unless it occurs too frequently for you to manage it well.

    Best Regards
    Billie
