I think people (another generalisation) apply it to other professions, nationalities, ethnic groups etc too.

With regards to the birthday threads I don't think there was/is a written rule on these.
I remember speaking to Floki (who was trained by Samlad) a while back and he told me he sees no harm in them, especially if the birthday girl / boy participates in the thread.

a valid point i hope .birthday and welcome back threads should be allowed but should be closed after 24 hours .a specific rule and then everyone knows situation .nobody is sure if even simple thing like birthdays are allowed .my opinion is things here went downhill with jd threads . abuse of ladies was allowed then . need specific rules and proper moderation .

lets be honest, you were hardly interacting anyway as here 6 years and only 420 posts so never really involved, most escorts only come on to market themselves anyway.

I remember not long after my birthday last year they were definitely banned. I can't remember which moderator it was but someone posted that people were to stop posting birthday threads without the permission of the person as it is a matter of discretion. Personally I was very happy about this, as I have some loon who is not a regular poster on here who seems to come on annually to wish me a birthday I'm no where near having yet (will likely be my 80th this year), so even though it just makes my eyes roll I could do without it. It was nice to know that this was in place. Also I have several different dates for my birthday (due again to hiding identity) and it means I get 2 or 3 birthday threads in the same month, which gets a bit confusing.

A bit of consistency wouldn't go a miss. Maybe it should have been written down and then we wouldn't be in this position where we would have to scourer through a load of posts to find the evidence or shrug shoulders and say it's wrong.

I don't think it is really relevant who was trained by who. Odd thing to say? I'm not doubting anyone's ability, just the memory of something that was said and is now forgotten.

I wasn't asking the moderators to stop people asking what do escorts do etc. More a plea for common sense from the minions. With regards to Lawyers as an example. They work within the law, so they should be working from the same book and have practices learnt during their degree and training. We don't exactly have that in this career move, so it's totally different. Unlike the law that is set in stone, we have no unity or guide lines to adhere to, therefore we are all different and do things differently.
