The R8 is a pig on petrol. Drive it hard and you'll get 6 mpg.
Porsche 911is the way to go.
The Audi is too heavy for Irish roads

If you have the dough for an R8 you'd hardly be in the position to be worried about how you're going to fill the tank.

Also, I've saw 6MPG out of a V6 Vectra I had donkeys ago... but I did have a transporter trailer with a old Range Rover on the back so being about 2 ton overweight didn't help

Believe me you get piss off constantly putting petrol in something like that. I had one in 2008 and when I got it, friends would come to look, we would tear up and down the road. It emptied the tank in around 70 miles.
I've no money now, and couldn't even afford the tyres.

Tons of torque, but heavy. Massive brakes but it has all that weight to slow.
I had a 911 after it.
There was one spot on my way home, I'd accelerate up to 100mph and then have to brake hard. The 911 would laugh at the R8 and stop probably 100 feet quicker.
