Thailand is good, I was up north e few years ago for 3 months in Chiang Mai…. It is quite commercial there too. I was surprised to see Boots, Pizza Hut, Starbucks and the likes there… The people are nice and it is quite easy to make friends, with locals and expats alike…. although you will be looked at like a walking cash cow, just cos you are white.
I met a guy there he was teaching English in one of the local high schools. His wages were very decent to live there and he was even able to save too…. so if you want to do maybe a little research and do a course to teach English as a foreign language, give that a go maybe.
I'm pretty sure you could actually go to most countries in the world teaching English….
