If you aren't claiming welfare and you aren't employed then the government gets all suspicious as to how you are living. People get caught out when they buy things like cars and cant explain the money.
My problem is I HATE carrying cash, if I get mugged, my purse gets stolen (which happened at Christmas and I lost 500 euro, all my bank cards, ID, health insurance cards, photos) or I cant get to the bank to withdraw cash then I'm stuck again with using my card or being hit with cash point withdrawal fees.
I guess I need to figure out if piece of mind against losing cash by using my card is worth the extra in bank fees.
....or if I should just keep an extra careful eye on my account and always keep 3000 in there.
What an absolute pain.
