This will show you the idiots that are running the city into the ground. And this is 100% true.

One of the nicest and newest redeveloped areas of the city, nice shops and stuff. There was a large corner unit going to rent near across from Dunnes Stores and on a small street with same nice shops. And a fucking Dealz goes in there, when it was already about 600 metres up the fucking road anyway!
Do dealz sell track suits? If so ye would need them no more than 600 mtrs apart.

At €1 per tracksuit? You mad? That's way too expensive for the infamous tracksuit/pyjama wearers of Limerick. Penneys man.

Yeah, I though they were pretty close as well, maybe the lettors and the local authority felt it was better to have any tenant than a closed up shopfront.
Easy to get tenants in the Crescent Shopping Centre but maybe not as easy in the city centre.

#1 prime retail space in all of Limerick. Sad isn't it? When a suburb beats a city centre for prime retail letting.

If I were Limerick City council, I would be bending over backwards and twisting any and all loopholes possible to get Marks and Spencers into the city centre. It truly would be the salvation of the city. Cos as it is, there is actually nothing to go into the city for. Debenhams is pure shit, and the only other unique business there is Brown Thomas. But Marks would bring people into the city in masses.

It's called the doughnut effect I think(hollowing out the city centre by allowing too much retail in the suburbs) has happened in plenty of British and American cities.
They have blocked permission for the half built /derelict place beyond the Parkway . There was talk of M&S going there, having been discouraged from further expansion in the Crescent.
M & S themselves may not want the city centre, if they ever decide to expand in Ireland again.

    It,s all about more money
If they convince more large retail into city centre,s then they get a higher rate charges as oppose it being farther from city centre
Then the more retail they get in city centre,s, the more volume of people they get, which then means they can then up the the rate,s they charge to businesses
