Interesting thread and examples, Kate. I tend to think of photoshopping mostly as airbrushing out tattoos and "improving" complexion. The idea of dropping a dress size or two by simply compressing horizontally had not occurred to me, and it could be done really easily on selfie-style pics as well.

I think I use pics only to give a rough idea of the style of the lady, and I always expect them to look more like "real people" when they open the door. Only one girl that I have visited looked like I imagined. Others have all been a little unexpected but never disappointing. I'm a sucker for a smile and a warm greeting, and they have all been easy tens on my pecker-meter.

No one would expect anyone to point the finger and point out where the obvious changes have been made, but does that mean that you have to add to the post so there are 5 or 6 pages long of appreciation for the images? Do some of you do that knowing that they are not representative and are you doing it to gain favour or because you are trying to help the person or out of sarcasm?

I mean you guys have no right to complain is really the point. How can you complain when actively encouraging it? It really does give everyone full reign to do whatever they want and why should they care if it bothers you or not when in my eyes it makes you much worse.

Mind you having said all that it seems that the majority here don't actually read either, so it's a lost cause.

Personally I'm not a huge fan of those threads, tbh I think they are more the opening poster trying to demonstrate what an influential poster he is, show off that he has a special relationship with an escort or some other such bollocks, more than sincere admiration for a lady. Forum status crap.
But some get off on it and other lads like to chime in that they have met her too, look at me, I'm part of the club.
No harm really, and if an escort who was a close friend of yours had an appreciation thread that no one replied to wouldn't you feel a little bad for her? This forum can be a bear pit so occasionally it's nice to be nice.

My opinion is that photoshopping to remove 'distinguishing' marks for reasons of discretion is acceptable. I wouldn't opt for photoshopping that made me look like a supermodel, as I'm not a supermodel, so why mislead guys with photos that bear only a passing resemblance to me?

Im with Sandy here. By all means remove marks, tattoos or blend the skin, but do not alter shape.

The type of photoshop you are demonstrating is body altering, in this case making you look slimmer than you are. Others make boobs or bum bigger. This type of photoshop I do not agree with and would be rather pissed off to meet the real girl on arrival.

We all know that professionals can make people look their best, sometimes with an airbrush, but at the very least by clever lighting and angles, and choosing the best images, but I would be just as likely to support a thread about a new selfie album.

Girls put a lot of time and money into these photo-shoots to promote themselves, and I am unashamedly happy to give a bit of support, especially if I have met them and like them. I have been told by some girls that appreciation threads can help business, and I see no harm in them. They are not hard to spot and skip past if you're not interested.

Part of it is just common courtesy, as you might compliment someone's new hairdo.

again I agree with the sentiment of what you are saying, but for every large bunch of honest photographers theres another bunch of using the lighting and angles line to justify the grossly over photoshopping we see...it probably goes something like this:

photographer: "youre photos are ready"
escort: "they dont look like me though
photographer: "thats just the lighting and angles Ive used "
escort: really great! my friend needs some done, heres her number
photographer: *thinking to him/herself...ha another sucker and more repeat business coming *
escort: *talking to friend..* theyre not you are they? you look amazing! I know, but its the lighting and angles he said so it is me oh I have to get him to do mine now make me look 20 years younger!!!
