I don't think this is true, based on a couple of escorts I have met who talked openly about their partners. In those cases I have no doubt that they were in a loving relationship, and were accepting a compromised situation for a time in order to give themselves a better life in future.

It's usually clients that make these generalisations - judging everyone else by their own experiences, but for every rule there are always exceptions.
