It's a long time since I milked a cow!!
Milk- nature intended that milk would be used on making babies and calves strong at the outset of their lives - full of fats and vitamins necessary for a growing baby - totally inappropriate for adults - so they say anyway!!

The farther away you get from the tropics and sub-tropics the more important animal products became, until you get to the eskimos and their almost exclusively meat diet. Hot, wet areas can grow a greater variety of plants. In colder areas people adapted to sometimes incorporate milk in the adult diet.
A bonus to survive harsh winters if our ancestors evolved to be able to digest milk as adults(many other people in other parts of the world lose the lactase enzymes as adults)
North Europeans are descended from people that had milk and meat as important components of their diet.
