I've just seen this thread and also saw the reports in the papers last week and to be honest, I'm kinda worried that my number could show up in places that I wouldn't want it showing up.

Has the fuss about this died down and its all been an overreaction or can anyone in the know say that this infamous list wont actually come to anything?

Patricia informed me that there is 6 digits of my number, as well as my favourites (extremely embarrassing).
I put all the 9 possibilities in front of the six numbers and each time is came up as me. (Gulp). So another member suggested I ditch my phone and say it was stolen or something,

I have read a lot & thought about the infamous "list".
I can only conclude that it exists.
It's probably fallen into some scummy journo's hands & he will do nothing with it.
On investigation he'll discover that it contains numbers of men from the whole cross-section of society. Yes, including fellow journos, celebs. politicians, gardai etc. He'll not publish or disclose any info. on it because he'll know there'll be a whole heap of shit coming down on him. I know of 1 very senior FF politician who used to visit a small knocking shop in D.4. I witnessed him coming out & inside one of the girls confirmed that he was a regular. These guys don't spend a lifetime building their empire only to let some back-street hack to tear it all down.
The other, more dangerous, possibility is for some scumbag to get hold of it & try to extort money from punters. These people are vultures & if they sense fear they'll go for the jugular. If they get sense that you don't care they'll dial the next no.
If the gardai get a hold of it I can't see them doing anything with it. They'll discover exactly what the hack did & realise there's a whole can of worms that would be best left closed. Anyway a no. on a list does not constitute evidence.
