If a blind eye was turned to 15,then the next case involving a 14 year old would be debated similarly.
I fully understand there are 14 or 15 year olds who look much older and act much older/are sexually experienced
But there are just as many (much more in fact) who are not sexually experienced or informed

The fact he is a footballer probably is the reason he is being made an example of...but also all the more reason he should have been aware that he needed to protect himself by restraining himself.
Anyway...he wasn't caught out by someone who looked and pretended to be legal.........he knew she wasn't and carried on regardless .

There was actually a 17 year old escort working at one time, now imagine they made the mistake to visit her and god forbid ended up on the sex offenders register.. or even worse prison...

I know what you are saying and I agree he made a big mistake and I would think he is now sorry for his actions, but I think if he was made pay her £50,000 instead of 4 to 10 years in prison . 15 year old girls are married and have kids in some other countries!! and I would think a lot of guys might take a chance if they thought they would get away with it. What age was Mandy Smith when she was dating Bill Wyman of rolling stones a few years back?. Now before all the guys on high horses come on I would lock him up and throw away the key if it was a child , but what age is really acceptable as most young people are sexually active at 15 I would think.

That was the era of Jimmy Saville. We know better now thankfully. I think it is more to do with the age difference than anything. A 15 year old with a 15 year old is experimental, a 15 year old with a 25 year old is a paedophile.

If she had not told him her age I personally would be a lot more sympathetic as girls do often look older than their years.
