I have a feeling I will be calling out for whatever 'God' (or-the-like) there might be , over the next three months .

Cold. Hunger. Fatigue . Aching body , perhaps aching Soul ...

Heartache at seeing suffering and perhaps unable to help as much as would hope to .

Enduring physical - spiritual 'suffering' .

Disorientation in a foreign land ; loneliness in the mountains , fear of the unknown -- even if I'd been there before x

I fear the Cold .

I agree with you. I'm a lapsed Catholic like most Irish people I know, but when a loved one is in hospital and there's nothing else we can do after ensuring that they're getting the best treatment possible I think most of us offer up a prayer to some sort of god. No atheists in fox-holes.

When my father was dying, the last thing I would have thought of doing was pray. I don't believe there is a god, and praying would just be stupid in that case. I know some people get comfort from prayer, and good for them , but it's just not for me.

I don't know - I've been through a life / death experience in recent years and I didn't resort to prayer as I used to earlier in my life - I no longer believe!!

I believed in God until my Mom lay dying and I begged for her to be spared , at my age of 7 .

Another four years later she died in the worst agony .

Then I didn't believe anymore .

Then a so-to -say 'Spiritual Awakening' some years ago :

there Must be something greater than ourselves out there !!
